Atomic Energy Commission
The big hullaballoo about the "incident" of 1947, New Mexico, was that a Japanese "weather" balloon invaded pre-airspace of the United States. The balloon incident was covered-up under "Mogul", because it was a foreign object. This was not the first or last incident.

The National Security Act for the United States was enacted 26 July, and made effective 18 September 1947 in response to invading Japanese "weather" balloons, following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki two years prior.

National Security Council

On 26 July 1947, a National Security Council was formed to create national intelligence and military establishments to be made effective by the 18th of September. The military-intelligence complex being based in the Commonwealth of Virginia:

  • Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) (Washington DC / Maryland)
  • United States Air Force (USAF)
  • U.S. Department of Defense (DOD)
  • Central Intelligence Community (CIA)

These security initiatives were essential prior to the establishment of the National Security Agency (NSA) in 1952, following the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Aerospace Security Administration (NASA) in 1958.
